LipoDissolve FAQ’s
Does the procedure actually work?
Yes, provided the individual is an appropriate candidate! The team of highly trained medical professionals at Vivace Medical Spa is certified in the latest techniques and methodology.
How does the LipoDissolve® procedure work?
Vivace’s standardized protocols help you dissolve problem fat with no surgery or downtime. Our LipoDissolve® procedure, administered through a series of micro-injections, permanently dissolves away fat deposits.
Over time, fat cells expand where we least want them, around our middle, area below the buttocks, thighs, arms, or chin. To dissolve these pockets of fat, PCDC micro-injections are delivered into the targeted treatment areas. The fat cells absorb the PCDC and become slightly inflamed, then harden. The hardened fat cells break down leading to measureable inch loss.
At this point, the fat cell no longer exists and has been permanently removed from the body. With multiple treatments, the desired end result is a smooth, natural look in the area that is treated. How long do I have to wait between each treatment?
Average waiting time in between treatments is two weeks, however when used in conjunction with the Synergie, length between treatments can sometimes be shorter. Depending on your body type and physiology, the medical person treating you may recommend waiting a longer period of time between treatments. Every patient is different.
How long do I need treatments?
Each patient’s anatomy and physiology dictate different treatment regimens. Our medical staff at Vivace tailors its treatments to match individual body types, lifestyles and desired results. We will customize a program for you at the time of your free and confidential consultation.
How long does each treatment take?
Treatments take less than an hour, that’s why some people call it “lunchtime lipo.” Your first visit, which includes your free, private consultation, will take a little longer, maybe an hour and a half total.
How long will it take to see results? Will I be able to tell a difference right away?
Results vary with each person’s body type and physiology. Some people start to see results after as few as two treatments, others not until their ninth treatment.
How many parts of my body can I treat at the same time?
We recommend that you treat only up to three body areas at the same time, depending on your medical evaluation. Some patients with a higher BMI will be advised to treat only one area at a time in conjunction with a nutritional program. The body areas we treat include the back of the arms, the upper and lower abdomen, the chin and jowls, knees, upper and lower back, inner and outer thighs, area below buttocks, and love handles.
How many treatments will I need?
Each person’s anatomy and physiology is different. Most people fall into a four to nine treatment range. We’ll customize a program for you at the time of your free and private consultation.
How old do you have to be?
You must be 18 years of age to receive LipoDissolve® treatments.
Is LipoDissolve® painful? Does it hurt?
There is localized pain and discomfort after treatment. There may be some localized discomfort upon injection, and a minor burning sensation immediately following the treatment. Swelling will occur in the treated area, and soreness and inflammation may be experienced for several days after treatment. In some cases, localized bruising may occur.
Is LipoDissolve® safe?
LipoDissolve®, available at Vivace maintains the highest standards and treatment protocols to ensure the safety of our patients. LipoDissolve micro- injections are always administered by trained and licensed medical staff.
Is the procedure permanent? Will the fat stay away or return in other areas?
The average person is born with a certain number of adipocytes (fat cells). LipoDissolve® will permanently dissolve adipocytes in the area of treatment, leaving only a thin layer of cells. If a person gains weight, the treated area can get larger because adipocytes still remain (it is impossible and unsafe to remove all adipocytes). However, the treated area should remain proportionate.
Because LipoDissolve® is an investment in an improved body image, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet and exercise to avoid excess weight gain.
What areas of the body can be treated? Can I dissolve in any area?
We offer treatment for the back of the arms, the upper and lower abdomen, the face, chin and jowls, knees, upper and lower back, inner and outer thighs, area below buttocks, love handles, and the male chest.
We are unable to treat the breast area on women or below the knees.
What is the downtime?
There’s little or no downtime! Normally, patients can resume their normal schedule immediately after injections. Some people experience tenderness which may require them to rest after their treatment, but most of our patients pursue their normal activities. The minimal disruption is the reason most patients find this lipotherapy so attractive.
Can I still play sports or exercise?
For the first 48 hours after a treatment, you should not engage in vigorous physical activity or exercise. After that time period, playing sports or exercising is acceptable.
Can I work after the treatments?
Yes. Traditionally after an injection procedure, there is no requirement for bed rest or reduced activity and most patients will resume their normal schedule immediately. The minimal disruption in their daily agenda is the reason most patients find this lipotherapy so attractive.
Can LipoDissolve® help get rid of the belly I gained from having babies?
Yes! LipoDissolve® is perfect for targeting localized areas of stubborn fat, like lower abs after having a baby and especially effective when used in conjunction with diet and exercise.
How can LipoDissolve® improve my abs?
More of our patients come in to dissolve the small localized excess fat on their lower abdomen more than any other part of the body. Patients not only lost inches, but also reduce their pant size. It’s not about weight loss, but inches lost.
Does LipoDissolve® work on men?
LipoDissolve® works just as well on men as it does on women, provided they are appropriate candidates. Men generally have the greatest success in the chin, chest, upper and lower abs, and the love handles. We’ve also seen good results in the use of LipoDissolve on gynecomastia or enlarged male breasts.
Will I have any dietary restrictions?
There are no dietary restrictions; however, you should maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle to achieve maximum results.
Will I lose weight?
LipoDissolve® therapy is not intended for weight loss. While the procedures will dissolve away small localized problem fat where diet and exercise can’t, the overall amount of weight loss is insignificant.
Will it improve health performance?
LipoDissolve® helps dissolve away small localized problem fat and helps you look better, but it doesn’t lead to weight loss. But, patients who have a better self image are typically more motivated to keep that healthy body image. Frequently, our patients find they eat healthier and exercise more as positive reinforcement of what they see in the mirror. We also encourage a healthy lifestyle with our nutritional program.
Will my friends be able to tell that I got something done?
Because LipoDissolve® therapy is a gradual dissolution of fat, and because there is no downtime, your friends will not necessarily know you had something done. Unlike plastic surgery or liposuction, there is no need for anyone to know that you are receiving treatments.
How is LipoDissolve® different from how liposuction works?
LipoDissolve®, available at Vivace, is a non-invasive procedure. Unlike plastic surgery, it dissolves away problem fat with no anesthesia, no surgery, and no downtime.
How does LipoDissolve® compare to a mesotherapy?
The LipoDissolve® therapy utilizes a pharmaceutical compound called phosphatidylcholine deoxycholate (PCDC), which is administered through a series of micro-injections to permanently dissolve fat.
Mesotherapy injections are a combination of pharmaceuticals, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and medications.
LipoDissolve® injections are placed in the mid-layer of subcutaneous fat, while mesotherapy injections are played at the hypodermis level. While LipoDissolve® is used to dissolve small localized fat deposits, mesotherapy injections are more commonly used for smoothing of the skin and skin rejuvenation. We do not offer mesotherapy.
I’ve seen liposuction before and after photos. Do you have before and after pictures too?
Yes! We’re more than happy to show off our own patients’ successful quest to dissolve away inches.
Do you have any testimonials or stories about men who have had treatments?
We have numerous success stories from male patients who have received LipoDissolve® treatments.
Can I talk to others who have had this done?
To maintain the privacy of our patients, we do not give out personal information. However, many of the medical staff in our center have had LipoDissolve® procedure – when you come in for a free consultation there are many people who have had the procedure…
